Mammoth Mountain Ski Report May 31, 2011 for Mammoth Ski Club-663″ with 8″ NEW

Mammoth continues to get fairly consistent snow fall with 2 more storms on the way in the next week. They got about 4″ Saturday night. Then got about 4″ more on Sunday night which made it perfect for the Memorial Day visitors who made their pilgramage to the place of their affection, Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort for their 3 day vacation.

The snow base is still 11-19 feet which is amazing for this time of year. I noted in a previous post when the roads to Reds Meadows and Tioga Pass would be open (June 24th and “middle of June”). Now Sierrra Star golf course has announced that they will be opening June 17th for those of you who enjoy golf when visiting Mammoth Lakes.

So the skiing is still worth it. They open at 7:30 am, and close around 2 now. But each day there is about 3-4 hours of really good skiing to be had. It is forecast to be windy tomorrow. So I plan to ski next on Wednesday in the light snow storm that is predicted.
