Mammoth Mountain Ski Report June 29, 2011 for Mammoth Ski Club-FRESH POWDER?

Motocross racers fly down the hill on the downhill double jump at Mammoth Motocross

Mammoth Mountain has had warm weather for the last 2 weeks, perfect for the Mammoth Motocross. Above is a photo I took at the Mammoth Motocross last Friday.

Today a small storm is hitting Mammoth Mountain, and I am hoping for some fresh snow tomorrow for Mammoth Ski Club members. The National radar showed snowfall earlier today near Mammoth, so pray for fresh snow.

Great news on the developments on chair 5. For years it has been rumored that chair 5 would be replaced with a high speed chair. I am happy to report to you that chair 5 is now being replaced with a high speed quad which whill have its’ base located near the bottom of Coyote so it will be easier to get from chair 3 to chair 5.

This upgrade will lighten the crowds on chair 3 on powder days. The old chair 5 has been sold to Mt. Baldy, and will replace the lower chair to the parking lot.

I’m skiing tomorrow, and will let you know how the conditions are this late in the ski season. If you haven’t entered the drawing for the FREE Mammoth Season Pass yet, go to www.MammothSkiClub.com and enter now! Until next post, see you on the slopes!
